If you’re more than 50 miles from the new (still undisclosed) “hubs,” you’ll be forced to relocate—or be out of a job.
Let me be clear: this is not about efficiency. This is about erasing an entire tier of public service professionals, many of whom have given their lives to serving rural America.
I’ve been there.
In 2019, I joined USDA as a Community Programs Loan & Grant Specialist. I helped bring millions in federal dollars to rural towns and tribal communities—funding everything from clean water to health clinics. But behind the scenes, I watched wave after wave of budget cuts, hiring freezes, and program restructuring slowly choke the mission.
